1. Chico California Photography - Throwback Thursday

Wednesday afternoon I sat at my computer looking up and down my last college assignment I would ever submit before graduating on Saturday. Hoping for some sense of stress relief, I waited for that feeling of weight being lifted off. Unfortunately, I haven’t felt it yet. I’m hoping on Saturday it will actually hit me, that I can now FULLY pursue my dreams with nothing holding me back.

You see, this year has not been perfect. A roller coaster of ups and down filled with many tears, trials, yet still moments of pure bliss. I had an opportunity to sit and reflect last night about my incredibly blessed year. I wrote down five adjectives (of sorts).

This year has been worthwhile. Everyday came with a great adventure, sometimes good sometimes not so good. Whether or not I chose to embrace it or let it consume me was a battle I’d constantly fight.

This year has been stressful!! I have loved my college experience, but some days I wished I could have done more with our photography and videography business. I wished I could have had more time to invest in people and do what I love, which is creatively telling stories through photography and videography.

This year has been overwhelming, but in a good way. I have been challenged as a creative to always push myself and to learn how to balance business and personal life.

This has been beautiful, full of new seasons in life. Stephen and I have met some amazing people who have opened their lives to us and walked with us when we needed them most. We have been apart of some pretty sureal love stories and each day are inspired by the client’s and friends who are in our life.

This year has been especially beautiful because about two months ago Stephen and I made a “until death do us part” commitment to each other. It was a day full of pure bliss, God showed up in so many incredible ways. Although wedding planning seemed like it would never end, God had something special in store for us. The day was miraculous, went off without a hitch and Stephen and I both were able to fully enjoy every second of it.

Looking back, the ups and downs of this year have been 100% worth it. I have grown so much as a photographer but even more as an individual. I’ve learned that God is my ultimate source of peace and that I need to rest in his presence daily to combat the stress of life. I have learned and am still learning to love people as I feel called to do so. I am learning that this gift of marraige is even more than I could have ever dreamed it to be, yet I will always be learning how to love Stephen more and more everyday. I am learning that each wedding we do photography or videography for is an opportunity to love our couples and their families as they begin this amazing adventure as husband and wife.

I am so excited for this wedding season which started for us two weeks ago. I am excited to tell more stories and walk with our couples through their special days! Thank you all for reading, encouraging and uplifting me along the way!

  2. Chico Engagement Photography - Nate&Ashley

Nate and Ashley’s engagement photography session was anything but the ordinary. We met them at Honey Run Covered Bridge and shot some photos at that Chico classic location. After that we drove a few minutes to where Ashley and Nate will soon live and where their wedding will be held. We hiked all around the amazing property where Ashley grew up, the scenery was just breath taking! Every which way you looked the were huge cliffs and canyon walls starring back at you. Ashley’s sweet dog Ginger was also quite the tour guide as she chomped through the tall grass with us.

Thank you so much Nate and Ashley for letting TréCreative tell your story through photography and videography. We are excited to be a part of your wedding day in October :D

  3. San Francisco Engagement Photography - Jason&Corina

Jason and Corina are such a creative couple and we loved spending our evening photographing their love all around the gorgeous city of San Francisco! It was our first time (and hopefully not our last) time doing engagement photography on a roof top!! Fun fact, Jason and Corina are getting married at the same Chico venue Stephen and I got married at only a few months ago (can’t believe it’s already been that long). We’re stoked because we love Patricks Ranch, and love to shoot there!

Thanks friends for showing us the city, letting us get to know you better and allowing us to capture your sillyness and rad love for one another. We think everything about your style is awesome, and the love the genuine people that you are. Seriously, we cannot wait for your wedding and are beyond blessed that we get the opportunity to be your wedding photographers.

  4. Chico Engagement Photography - Nate&Ashley

LOVE the love these two have for each other!

One of our favorite moments during an engagement photography session is when the couple forgets about us and it becomes just about them. As a Chico wedding photographer we’ve found it is not just the fancy equipment that makes a good wedding or engagement photo, it’s making our couples feel comfortable that matters most. We want engagement photography sessions to feel like an adventure with good friends, and that’s usually what they turn into! Once the couple feels comfortable they begin to break out of their shells, showing those glimpses of love that we look for in every shot. That is why we include a complimentary engagement session with every photography package we offer! When the actual wedding day comes, our couples are completely at ease because they’ve “been there done that” when it comes to getting their pictures taken…and that’s when these true moments of love are ready to be captured!

We’re really excited for Nate&Ashley’s full engagement blog post coming soon!

  5. Sacramento Engagement Photography by Chico California Wedding Photographer - Matt&Alice

Matt and Alice, you two are such a perfect pair. We had such a blast driving all over Sacramento, stopping at random locations to take your engagement photos. You guys were such troopers the whole time and we really appreciated it! We loved the energy you brought to this engagement photography session and are definitely looking forward to spending more time you on your wedding day which is coming up so soon!!! :D

P.S. Check out that S.F. attire! Stephen and I could not stop laughing while taking their fan attire photos. You guys are hilarious and we loved seeing your personalities come out together!

  6. Funday Friday - Our Little Garden

I’ve always wanted to have a garden. I love the enjoyment of watching something grow and getting to see (and eat) the finished product while enjoying it with others. So right after Stephen and I got back from our honeymoon and went to the Chico Farmer’s Market to pick up some plants to grow. So far there has been no food product yet, but I’m excited as they get bigger and bigger.

    Happy Friday Everyone!

  8. Chico California Photography - Engagement - Ricardo&Tessa

It is no secret that Stephen and I love exploring and finding new photography spots in the Chico area. Last weekend we hoped into our car, cameras in hand, and drove to Orland to meet Tessa and Ricardo at her families ranch where their wedding will be held this summer. We love to be able to visit a wedding venue prior to the wedding (sometimes it has to be in the early morning before) and familiarize ourselves with the area and plan out some specific photos.

After giving us the grand tour, we just had to stop and snap some happy pics of this lovely couple. We are so excited to be able to use our wedding photography to capture all the creative ideas these two have been planning.  After spending the evening with them, we feel so lucky that they chose TréCreative to document their love story.

OH before I forget… what Tessa and Ricardo did not tell us was the family dog had just given birth to the most amazingly adorable puppies!!! Stephen and I were so tempted to take one home…it was seriously so hard not to. We took home this photograph of one to hold us over in the meantime. We LOVE doggies and we can’t wait to have one of our own one day :D

  9. Funday Friday - The Puerto Rican Rainforest

Every time Stephen and I travel anywhere outside of Chico, we almost always have our camera’s in hand. Even on our honeymoon in Puerto Rico, we could not put our photography down. The fun photos we take together usually just end up living on our computers waiting to be shared. Thankfully, we have had enough friends and family asking to show some of these photographs and well, here we are.

One of the excursions we went on in Puerto Rico was a hike through the El Yunque Rainforest. It was so lush and green, we had both never seen anything like it! We stopped at several spots along the way, one called the Yokahu Tower that looked out over the entire rainforest. The next stop was about a 1 mile hike into the wilderness that ended at a beautiful waterfall where we swam. Hopefully we will one day be able to return to this spot again.

  10. Chico California Photographer - Engagement Tease - Matt&Alice

We met Matt and Alice in Sacramento California for their engagement session and right away we knew this was going to be such a fun couple to photograph. Alice is such a sweet and beautiful girl and Matt just adores her. Together, they make things brighter!

I can’t wait to show you more from our time spent with these two, until then, enjoy a little tease.

  11. Chico California Photographer - Engagement Photography - Joel&Rachel

    Where do I even begin…

To say we are excited to photograph this wonderful couple on their wedding day is a bit of an understatement. We are thrilled!! Chico is very blessed to have these two around.

One of Joel and Rachel’s special spots is the Vina, California Monastery. That is where they spent many afternoons on dates and the place Joel proposed.

Rachel and Joel, you have such an incredible love for one another and for the Lord that is so evident and joyful to watch. We are blessed you chose us to do your wedding photography and are excited to get to know the two of you better. You both are so genuine and authentic and we appreciate the humility you both walk in. Thank you for blessing us!

    Love,

Both Stephen and I are so excited to continue building our relationship with Rachel and Joel. We can’t wait to go on a few double dates and be a part of their big day in July. Keep a look out for more photos coming very soon!

  13. Chico California Photography - Feeling Refreshed

The other day, Stephen and I decided to take a break from work and go on a little adventure. The orchards in Chico are in full bloom and they are absolutely beautiful, we could not pass up this opportunity to take some photos together.

With our own wedding coming up in less than TWO WEEKS sometimes getting away from our office is just what we need to feel refreshed and recharged. Each day I am reminded to soak everything in and enjoy every moment.

  15. Chico California Wedding Photography - Chico Bridal Show Preparation

As we gear up for the Chico Bridal Show this weekend, we wanted to choose some our our previous Chico wedding photography to have enlarged for our TréCreative booth. We figured no sweat…we’ll just choose a few photos, order the canvases and be done with it. Boy were we wrong! It was SO hard to choose which photos we wanted to display large. Going through our previous photography together was a ton of fun, but it was really difficult to narrow down which ones we wanted to show off. Bridal shows are a ton of fun, but they can be stressful to prepare for. We want to make a positive impression on a bride or groom passing by and most times there’s only about five seconds to do so… YIKES! We attended a bridal show this past January as “bride and groom” for our upcoming wedding in March, it was entertaining, but also overwhelming how many options we had. Hopefully, as a photographer and videographer duo, we can ease couple’s stress by combining two services into one!

We wanted to show a variety of photos at the show so we decided to include two smaller canvases from previous Chico engagement photography sessions. Most of the future brides attending the show are currently engaged so we hope that these photos will catch their eye! As a photographer and videographer couple, we love capturing emotions through our cameras, and we love to show off the joy that our couples radiate. We absolutely LOVE doing engagement photography sessions. Meeting our couples, hanging out for a bit and making sure they feel comfortable in front of the camera before the big day is always a blast! Looking for Chico California engagement photography? We’d love to chat!

Next up were the BIG prints. These were the hardest to choose, but we narrowed it down to some of our favorites from this past TréCreative wedding photography season. To help with continuity, we chose two photographs from the same wedding, Jacob and Emily Ravenscraft (see the wedding videography we did for them HERE). This wedding was one of our favorites because we were able to do what we love, combining BOTH videography and photography to create an all-inclusive masterpiece.

Enlarging a photo of Emily as she got ready was really important to us. We want to show our future couples to know that we don’t have hourly limits like most photographers and videographers. TréCreative will be there to tell your story through photography and videography from beginning to end, from the getting ready to the final send off, we’ll document it all!

We were SO close to ordering a print of this shot of Nicole as well, but because of lack of space in the TréCreative booth had to pass on it :(
Nevertheless, we love this shot, the lighting is perfect and Nicole looks gorgeous! At TréCreative we use photography and videography to make you look your best on the happiest day of your life. Hope to see YOU at the Bridal Show this Sunday (p.s. we have two pairs of extra tickets, if you and your Fiancé want to come, let us know!) Thank you so much for considering TréCreative for any Chico wedding photography and videography needs!
